The Red Wolf comes with its own linear power supply. We firmly believe that power has a massive effect on the audio performance of any component, and the incorporation of a 275W power supply housed in an external case proves that conviction. Linear power is a much simpler and quieter (very low noise floor) method of delivering power, and so is superior over switching supplies when working with audio. They have a low output voltage ripple making them best choice for audio applications such as the Wolf. We have found that R-Core transformers edge out the toroidal transformers in sound performance over traditional toroids, so Red Wolf’s now come standard with R-Cores. utilizes silicon steel which is the most flux-stable material available. The material and its long strip orientation ensure that there is the minimum possible noise leading into rectification and then the busses and associated filters. At all phases, the psu chief design goal has been and will continue to be zero noise while supplying adequate current ripple to ensure artifact-free audio reproduction. Each supply is custom tuned to achieve the lowest output ripple. Using Linear power for every voltage rail, we have been able to produce a sound that is more focused, with a more pronounced soundstage and musicality. It is a very satisfying step in the evolution of our products, and we are rightfully proud. Wolf Power

Power and control like this is hard to find. Some companies like to take shortcuts with their implementation. That's not good. We took the long route, and the listener is that much better for it.
